5 most important changes in New Education Policy

After 34 years there is new education policy in India.
 
1- 5+3+3+4 Format

The 10 + 2 system will be divided into 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 format.
The first five year of school will comprise of the foundation stage, including three year of pre - primary school and class first and second. The next three years will be divided into a stage from class 3 to 5.
Later, three years of middle stage (class 6 to 8), and four years of secondary stage (class 9 to 12).

2- Mother tongue as medium of instruction

The policy document states that children learn and grasp non - trivial concept more quickly in their home language.
The NEP(new economic policy) only recommend the mother tongue is medium of instruction and not make it compulsory.
Wherever possible, the medium of instruction until at least grade 5, but preferable till grade 8 and beyond, will be home language or regional language.
This will be followed by both private and public school.

3- Inclusive education

Effort will be made to incentive the merit of students belonging to SC, ST , OBC and other SEDGs.
The national scholarship portal will be expanded to support, foster, track the progress of student receiving scholarship.
Private HEIs ( Higher Education Institutions) will be encouraged to offer a larger number of recess and scholarships to their students. Special funds have been involved for special education.

4- Multi-disciplinary approach

Stand alone Higher education  institute and professional education institute will be evolved in multi disciplinary.
The new education policy aims for " board based , flexible learning."
Institution of her single stream must be phased out ,and all universities and colleges must focus on becoming multi-disciplinary by 2030.
Further by 2030, the aim is to setup at least one large multi-disciplinary HEI aur near every district.

5- Exit option in degree courses

The under graduate degree, which are of 3 to 4 year duration will have multiple exit option.
After completing one year, if a student decided to drop out she/he will get a certificate in discipline or field including vacation and professional.
on dropping out after 1 year student will get a certificate and after 2 years they will get a diploma and after 3 years, student will get a bachelor's degree.
The four year multi-disciplinary bachelor's program, however will be preferred option. It will get a degree with research if a student has pursued a project along with it.
